I love love this pump. It works with batteries or plugged in but I would suggest to plug it in when possible because it sucks up the batteries. Also I would recommend to have replacement parts on hand, I have needed to replace the valelve (thank God there was a spare in the box) the tiniest tear in the valve will make it non functional. So I would say buy the whole extra set of replacement pieces. I have been using it for 2 and a half months and now I think will need to replace the tubes. Overall great pump!
